It wasn't really a secret, but I feel better sharing now that she's said it publicly... I am Jessi Jean's current business development coach and funnel/offer strategist. And if you don't know who Jessi is, let me give you the TLDR. She's a ridiculously talented business owner turned content creator who set records in a recent course launch where she sold over $6m in just a few weeks. ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING. She hired me quite a while ago (over a year or so) when she was working in her other business. We worked together for six months and then she took some time off while she made a pivot. I watched her from the sidelines when she came back to Instagram announcing her new direction, and cheered her on. Her videos were ALWAYS captivating... didn't matter what she was talking about. I've had over 300 private clients, and it was clear from the start that she was in the top 1% of players. She had grit, talent, and smarts. She's one of those people that - whatever she sets her mind to - she will accomplish. When she launched her new program (Yap Challenge) the first time, I immediately bought it. It was $297 and about yapping on camera... a skill she's nailed that I would love to improve upon. Turns out, this is unusual for a coach to buy a client's program? I didn't think much of it. Because here's one of the biggest things I've learned in ten years of doing this: the REASON I'm a good coach is how much I learn from my clients. Yes, they pay me to be the expert. But in a lot of ways, I'm also the student. She's not the first client I've bought from, and she won't be the last. Anyway, Jessi had the sales page on FG Funnels (go FGF!) and I could see it was doing well, and halfway through the launch, she DMed me and said... Julie, can we chat? That chat turned into a four hour phone call and our business relationship rekindled. She rehired me and I supported her through the end of the first launch and then we began strategizing about launch number two. I don't think either of us thought the second launch would outperform the first. But as the waitlist grew and grew and grew- and the social proof along with it-, it was clear that this was not going to be an ordinary launch. The waitlist ballooned to 30,000 people in just a few weeks. Jessi already had 4500 students going through the first round of the challenge, and with a daily drop of content that included a video and prompts (that she was creating each day), she was already grinding hard... but still delivering at a level 99.99999% won't do. Just imagine what it's like with 4500 students and you're a one person show with just a VA on the sidelines. Just bonkers nuts. Most people doing this volume have an entire team and sometimes still struggle to deliver. She was doing all her own social media, her emails, her videos, her editing, graphics, everything. The only thing she hired out was the design and tech of the funnel (two talented folks there too - Mackenzie, her designer - is one of the OG Funnel Gorgeous certified marketers)! The doors opened to launch #2 and within 24 hours, she hit $2,000,000 in sales. ๐คฏ We were both gobsmacked (and her poor VA and friend were BURIED in support emails). At that point, Jessi asked if I would oversee waitlist email list and architect the launch emails for the remainder of the launch so she could focus on her people. So we split it:
I don't think I've ever written a more fun launch sequence in my life. It's one thing to be a good copywriter. It's another thing when you get to be a good copywriter for an INCREDIBLE offer that has INSANE social proof. Every morning I was dumpster diving through Instagram and threads and a folder of growing testimonials, to pick out what was working, what people were thinking & saying. It's now one of my proudest bodies of work, and I won't take any more credit than is due for what I did... because Jessi made millions before me, and she will make millions long after our coaching arrangement is done (though I hope I get to work with her a long time)! I just got to be the lucky painter with an excellent set of brushes and paint and a great sunset to capture. So here's the actual reason I'm sending this: This is what I do. I take a great offer and I make its launch the best it can possibly be. I don't always tell you that part out loud - I'm better at pointing the spotlight at everyone else - but I'm owning it today. If you've got an offer with real substance behind it and you want a strategist in your corner who's also quietly obsessed with getting better every single day, that's me. If that's something you want to explore, just hit reply and tell me what you're building. I read every one. xx Julie P.S. Hoping you get a chance to jump into the Yap Challenge next time it comes around. It's one of the best. Stay tuned if you missed it, I'm sure it'll come back again! P.P.S. Just want to clarify, done-for-you copywriting isn't part of my coaching package. ๐ I don't generally take this work as a rule. But for the right offer and the right circumstances, I've been known to make an exception as a separate engagement if you're a private client (just in case any of my current clients are wondering why I didn't bust out their email sequences for them). |
