Making Good on my FB Promise!

Hi hi

Today I wanted to follow up on a promise I made a few days back (on Facebook) where I said that I would show you who I follow and where I consume my content. Please note, I did ask AI to do this compiling for me, so any weird links - pay no mind. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I gave Claude the names and let it do the research!

A few notes:

NOTE #1: You'll notice there are very few marketing people on this list. That's on purpose. I get my marketing education from doing... running campaigns, coaching clients, and testing things in real time. I don't follow marketing thought leaders because I want my marketing perspective to come from my own experience, clients, and businesses, not someone else's framework. I do not want my followers to feel that I am just parroting the latest trends I'm hearing from others.

That said, I will absolutely go hunting for specific tactics here and there.

Some examples:

  1. YouTube algorithm tricks
  2. Viral reels
  3. SEO for local businesses
  4. Meta ad changes
    โ€‹

It's not a steady diet from a particular person so I didn't include all the people in my rolodex on this list. If you were to work with me, I could point you to pretty much any tactician in Digital Marketing if I didn't cover it myself.

NOTE #2: What I do follow obsessively? Farm accounts. Animal accounts. Science accounts. I'm deep into documentaries and I use AI constantly to fact-check and dig into rabbit holes. Too many to list here. ๐Ÿ˜‚

NOTE #3: I do keep a steady diet of people I disagree with and don't like. Not sure if this is good for my health or not, but I like to see what they are saying. I felt it best NOT to put up that list, but it is long.

NOTE #4: My consumption of social media has gone down some because I find my own brain comes up with a lot of stuff and it's just a conversation between me and AI. Is that good or bad? NO idea. But I spend a good bit of time arguing with Grok, Gemini, Chat, and Claude.

NOTE #5: I have over 60 private clients. I have a steady diet of their offers, social media, etc. So there are lots of people like that - that I follow and am on their lists. I also have two coaches that work alongside me - Helen Henley and Nuno Tavares. I check in with them and respond to their content as well.

NOTE #6: I do consume content from personal development folks on OCD, health anxiety, etc. but I don't know them well enough to recall them from name and be like - FOLLOW this person.

Now, onto the personal brands you could say "I follow".

Side note: I also listen to Diary of a CEO (https://www.youtube.com/@TheDiaryOfACEO), but selectively... I'm only tuning in for the AI and Christianity episodes. I skip all the productivity and health stuff.

That's it! I couldn't really think of anyone else. I'm the queen of ignoring most stuff, and overall - this is a strength more than a weakness I think! (my kids sometimes disagree).

You might have gotten to the end of this and thought - man she's missing out. What about _______?

Feel free to reply and let me know WHO I should add to this list!

xx Julie
